MLS GOALS TYPOLOGY 2ND ROUND OF REGULAR LEAGUE

We have been analyzing all the goals (39) scored in the MLS 2nd round of the regular league.

-14 goals scored in organized attack, we consider organized attack the moment were the attacking team is having the ball possession and can progress through different ways like using short passing, long passes, long passes + 2nd action.

-11 goals scored in transitions, we consider transition when there is a ball recovered and the target is step into the opponent's box as soon as possible. We know there could be different understandings about how and when the transition ends and start an organized attack.

-14 goals in set pieces, we consider all the situations used with stopped ball (corner kicks, throw ins, kick offs, goal kicks, free kicks, penalties) and we also have included the goals originated in 2nd actions after set pieces.

TIPOLOGÍA DE LOS GOLES MARCADOS EN LA 2DA RONDA MLS DE LA LIGA REGULAR

Hemos estado analizando todos los goles (39) de la segunda ronda de la MLS liga regular.

-14 goles fueron marcados en ataque organizado, consideramos ataque organizado el momento con balón y con la posibilidad de progresar de diferentes formas como utilizar pases cortos, pases largos, pases largos + 2da jugada.

-11 goles marcados en transiciones, consideramos transición cuando el balón es recuperado y la intención es atacar el área del rival lo más pronto posible. Sabemos que puede haber diferentes interpretaciones de cuando y como finaliza una transición y empieza un ataque organizado.

-14 goles en acciones a balón parado, consideramos ABP todas las situaciones con el balón parado (saques de esquina, saques de banda, saques de centro, saques de meta, faltas,penaltis) y también hemos incluidos los goles originados en 2das acciones después de ABP.
